So you made a sale and are wondering when you are going to get paid by Etsy.
This question is only natural as you need the money to afford the shipping cost for the item.
Not only that, many products on Etsy require money to create, and once your store grows you want to be able to cover the costs of materials and get your order shipped out as soon as possible.
So that begs the question…
Do Etsy sellers get paid before shipping?
Yes. In most cases, Etsy sellers get paid before shipping. Etsy offers both weekly and daily deposits, if you select daily deposits and reach your daily minimum, your funds will be deposited into your bank account the following day, once payment processing is complete.
Daily deposit minimums vary based on country:

It is important to note that new seller accounts will be kept on a weekly deposit schedule, with your funds being deposited into your bank every Monday so in this case you would not be paid before shipping.
Another case where the seller would not get paid before shipping the product is if their processing time is set to 1 day, this does not give Etsy enough time to deposit your funds. It’s recommended you set your processing time to 3–5 days if you require the funds to process and ship your orders.
Should you ship on Etsy before getting paid?
If your order shows that payment is complete, you should work on shipping out your order as soon as possible, even if the money hasn’t been placed in your bank account.
It’s understandable that this could give a new seller pause, but Etsy offers fairly good seller protection in the event that there is any funny business after you ship the item out.

When a buyer on Etsy pays for shipping, Where does it go?
When you make a purchase on Etsy, more often than not you will be charged a shipping fee. But where does that fee go?
The shipping fee on Etsy goes to the seller, it is deposited into their bank account along with the rest of the money from the order. The seller then uses that money to pay for shipping & the materials that are used to ship their product. Things like:
- Bubble wrap
- Boxes
- Tape
- Envelopes
Have no fear, most Etsy sellers are not jacking up shipping prices, and your money is being spent getting your recently purchased product to your doorstep!
How long does it take for Etsy to process payment?
Payments are normally processed within 72 hours on Etsy. This includes the time it takes the buyer to finish the payment and Etsy to clear the funds. However, in rare situations, the monies may take longer to be released to the seller if Etsy detects some unusual activity.
It’s also worth noting that the time it takes for payment to be processed can vary depending on a number of factors, such as the method of payment used (e.g. credit card, PayPal) and whether the buyer and seller are located in the same country.
Additionally, Etsy may need to verify certain information before releasing funds to the seller, which can also add to the processing time.
